Sample Certificate Of Good Standing For Dentists

COMIC SHOW THE WAIT. 1984.

In fact, waiting is what I had to do to shape this blog. Time, time is needed to remind some of the distinguished artists and writers of that legendary magazine, 1984.

ART-F463-763-693-181 recently little when compared with more than twenty years ago in which I move, I asked if he would succeed now relaunch magazine-style comic that appeared in Spain in the 80 (the last century!), said no. I thought, a boat soon, then and think now, more sedate, four months later. The explanation is that, although there is a tendency of recovery nostalgic elements of the past very strong, republished those magazines is likely to occur with reissues I'm seeing in the market, the lack of quality. That would be the first failure of magazines out now. To become a new publication, would not survive. Why?, Because it has lost some of the magic of time, learn to wait for a year or year and a half that a series is finished and satisfied with a ration of four or five pages per month.

Introduced and the subject, given even to watch that, what I'm going to go, to speak of the publication. 1984 was a comic magazine in the prevailing fantasy and science fiction. Edited by Toutain, like Creepy took its name from the eponymous magazine's U.S. Editorial Warren. This franchise system allowed him to play much of the material that was published in America, to which were added here in Spain, series produced by English authors, Portugal and Argentina. In addition to an introduction by way of editorial, reflections and the odd story or feature on the status of comics, an author or a critic. (So this idea collate feedback and experience in between lectures on comics is not mine, nor new).

1984, the English, was born in 1978. The name referred to George Orwell's novel, and the initial setting, no doubt, was also. He soon abandoned this oppressive atmosphere, futuristic, to become a magazine that covered science fiction thank God not from the perspective simplistic Wars Galaxies, but reflections influenced by Orwell himself, Bradbury, Asimov, or the Silent Ships cinema, Tron, Blade Runner or The Black Hole. They may even Tarkovsky, the Russian filmmaker forgotten, or Godard's Alphaville, influenced the aesthetics of comics. Could not be otherwise, the amalgam of authors was great and notorious, both in origin, and quality, as even the subject. The artistic groups formed by Altuna and Trillo Trillo and Bernet himself, had here a place to give free rein to your imagination. But their actions were not always science fiction, at the end of the day golden magazine, the issue could not be more erotic, as the series that started here Trillo and Bernet, Light & Bold, was continued and re-edited by Penthouse Comic.

taberna In 1984, after 64 numbers, many extras and almanacs began Area 84. In principle, the name change was done to avoid anachronisms in the following year. This vague claim hid two reasons not mentioned, first follow the trail begun by the American namesake while separated from her, and another one to open the issue of the journal to other topics and authors. It incorporates cutting social stories, erotic, fantastic, surreal and given the "opportunity" for new authors. The percentage of stories quality remained high, despite the disappearance of Berni Wrightson and Frank Thorne, their horror stories and sword and sorcery and something else (Ghita was an erotic myth, the antithesis of the Virgin Red Sonja), attracted much of the previous readers. Richard Corben, who in 1984 had published his version of the Tales from the Thousand and One Nights, became a kind of god for publishers, while its near-ubiquity boredom led us to some of us (only much later and after a very slow digestion of binge that I went back to value). So, and year after year, the overall quality was declining gradually. It was not an isolated incident, this type of publication was dying, but the various experiments that were done with the magazine, introducing authors with insufficient quality scripts flojísimos or copied in any fashion film at that time or the inclination to subject only erotic, killed Area 84, officially died at 92. For others had died much earlier, around 1989, after a long agony of waiting began in the summer of 1984.

The_Complete_Ghita_of_Alizarr_by_Frank_Thorne seems incredible, because for a teenager at sixteen there are few issues more attractive that sex, and if more explicit. But the aforementioned Light & Bold and Druuna, Serpieri, caused a feeling of scam that made sexual adventures and prowess of its female protagonists hardly matters. Almost, you can not lie. The sequence of these stories, introduction, short-term sexual act, dialogue, long-lasting sexual act, dialogue, final sexual act tired. Despite the pleasure and ease of pneumatic players.

galeries_C1R1_9 However, and despite the unwanted end, Josep Toutain role in the dissemination of adult comics (do not confuse this terminology with the adult film used as a euphemism for porn), was instrumental in English history. Since the mid-60's took care to give an intellectual dimension to the comic strip until his death remained in the dream of turning it into art. Thanks to him, we met with key authors, and our dream, not to mention film, were of paper, paper desinée.

Corben-07 To learn more, or as a gift, I present this testimony, that someone in a forum called Passage, translated. Material is NOT made by me, so I apologize if someone does not want to appear here and want it to be removed:

Apparently, everyone who met Toutain home to mixed feelings towards him ... It is said that he was a seducer, in the broadest sense of the term, with savoir faire and such absolute confidence in himself that he could transmit to those around him. I can not resist himself transcribing the words of James Warren, publisher of the famous line of magazines in b / n "Creepy", "Eerie," "Vampirella", etc. about his first encounter with the charismatic Toutain.
translate:
"It was four o'clock in the afternoon on a weekend in the New York office and my secretary, Liz Alomar, said:" A certain Mr. Toutain are here to see him. " I said, 'Liz, you have no appointment. You know I want to leave early today because I have an appointment at 4:30. " She said: 'Mr. Toutain want to show you some samples of artists. Represents an art studio. " In Warren Publishing, had five of those vendors to date, and said, 'Liz, really this is not the moment. " Josep Toutain was Barcelona, a English quite imposing with its 6'2 ", I talked like Ricardo Montalban, wearing a scarf around his neck. Could have been a Shakespearean actor. Liz was fairly caught and he fell in love on sight. She said, 'Mr. Warren, has come all this way from Spain, and fly back to Barcelona tomorrow morning. Please, can you show your portfolio? '. I said, 'Liz, do not do this. You know I'm about to leave. " But Liz insisted and said, 'OK, let her go, but only for twenty minutes! ". Josep Toutain enters carrying a portfolio (think John Carradine with a strong English accent, only better looking). Bows and says, 'Mr. Warren (pronounced "Wahr-den"), I'm Josep Toutain. I do not speak English very well but I represent a group of English artists from Catalonia, Spain. " Ask if I care to smoke, shake my head, and take his cigarette as Peter Lorre in "Casablanca" ... Joseph was a character, and I was delighted. And then I made my first mistake, and I bit my tongue right after committing the crime, but I said, 'Liz, perhaps Mr. Toutain would like coffee. " God, that after ten minutes! Do not offer coffee to anyone you plan to throw a kick five minutes! But I could not do anything, it was so lovely. She brought the coffee and I knew I was beaten. I could never be in that meeting at 4:30. He said, 'Does this sound familiar Catalonia? It is the birthplace of Picasso, Dali, and many other great artists. I have artists who admire your magazine for many, many years, and I just came to see Stan Lee and Carmine Infantino. Now I'd like to show some samples of art. " I said, 'Oh, have you gone to them first? All right. I understand. DC and Marvel are a little older than us, but before I show this work, tell me: Have you bought them anything? ". Looked at me knowingly and said, 'Not yet. He is thinking. " So I said, 'All right. Let's see what this is. " He puts his big leather briefcase on the table, opens it, and threw out two samples. The first page was an artist named José González. Drawings of women. The second page was a man named Esteban Maroto, and say nothing, do not show any expression, but when I was on the third Page could not help. I said 'It's working exceptionally well. Who are these people? ". He said 'These are the artists that I represent. I myself am an artist. Do you know Will Eisner?. We letters. " This told me that he knew of comics. So I look at page after page of this amazing art in a style that was well described as "European." It was a different sensibility, a different art style. Toutain also showed me he was selling paintings as covers for Dell and other publishers. I started asking questions about art and English artists. By this time was 6 PM. He had completely forgotten my early 4:30 am appointment. I did not to worry about any appointments. Was staring at the art until I lost my senses. Vampirella looked at the artist was looking for two years. The appointment was canceled, and she does not speak of this again. Josep Toutain and I went to dinner after 8 pm. Negotiate prices, delivery dates, agreements with banks, all before the waiter served the first course. "

EPILEPSY. Catharsis.

(On the album of David B. Epilepsy. The Rise of the Great Evil David B., David Beauchard is a French author of unconventional design, which his teacher Pichard, described as a sad picture, a picture that one knows what causes a feeling of sadness in the reader. He has published comics since 1985, and founded the independent publishing house L'Association . His most recognized for critics is the work before us, published in France in six volumes from 1996 to 2003, and collected as Epilepsy. The Rise of the Great Evil in one volume with a prologue and epilogue to his sister. Cutting and possibly autobiographical psychoanalytic, sounding raw and very accurate memories creates a work that captures the reader and shakes him. He discovers, through experience, the sad experiences to which families are forced to reaching the disease. Connects with other works such as Maus or Persepolis , the distance that the processing of memories. Although the tragedy is merely relative, greater effect on the reader by the vividness of the situations and between poetic vision and neurotic David B. A masterpiece. Not suitable for people with altered mood states.)

Ten or twenty years she became the family home. Not lost, or not believed to have lost confidence with the brothers, so the privacy of the bathroom is broken with the appearance of the brother. The brother is actually a stranger, a shadow of the past. The parents' house is no longer the home of their own. What once was new and bright, spacious, beautiful and then everyday is a succession of cold and empty spaces of meaning, if anything, a slight memory of a distant past.

Brother is a monster. You ruined your life. Has ruined family life. You have turned your sister and you two sad things, asocial, traumatized. Your parents have lived in a succession of fashion crazy psychological, pseudo-religious, a thousand thousand aliens and Rosicrucians. Have seen hope, have been deceived, wanted to believe in what you do not want to believe.

And then came the memories. On a black background, memories, memories, memories. From childhood, shamans, of a dead Paris, ghosts, owls. And on that black background, the memories dance, collapsing space, cartoon, dialogue, collapse and collapse readers hearts.

and catharsis. Thanks to the reader, through writing, through the complacent gaze of mother and sister. And better than by the reader, at the expense of the reader, at the expense of the reader to stop a piece of life in reading, reading the harrowing traps and hooks. That hurts and damages.

and catharsis.

Is There Any Birth Games

MAN ... L'UOMO DI ...

Where was Guido Crepax?. Was it really Italian?. No, this is not an enigma as that of Christopher Columbus. Guido was born in Milan, all the effects, and to my knowledge, Italy. What happens is that Guido Crepax is international, as the socialist and communist political parties. And so Crepax, as the great authors and artists, seems to belong only to the world without a nation. Disservice, on the other hand, in this author Milan who combines in its thoroughness and precision industrial designer close to the German or Swiss mentality, and at the same time, freedom and fantasy typical of a Mediterranean soul.

guido_crepax_08_6392 Guido was born in 1933, lived as a child by both Italy's World War II, the post-war recovery and full maturity, rise of communism in Europe pre and post 68 of the Europe of the armed struggle. In addition to the political world in which he dwelt, lived the world of jazz with great passion, as big fan as a connoisseur. And the world erotic, Valentina, that of Emmanuelle. Unlike other Italian artists like Manara own, or Tinto Brass, or Fellini, the erotic vision of Guido Crepax is not very passionate, it seems that the author is delighted with his story, but becomes a witness to narrate the relationship accuracy and objectivity unusual. Nor Crepax woman is a heroine or protagonist common, is not a myth erotic or sexual object, is is a free woman who lives her life as freely as possible and in which sexuality is manifested as an exercise more of their free will. There is not even the supposed naivety of Milo Manara, the woman is conscious and accountable.

11 of his political adventure I'm highlighting a comic masterpiece. In English, translated and edited by Super Totem, like Russia in Flames. I still have, not only in memory but in my library, a copy of that story. It has an episode centered on a little-known era of the Russian Revolution, the civil war that followed the end of World War I, when some European powers and Japan supported the counterrevolutionary White Russians. In this context a patrol outpost, in the style of commands, or saboteurs, faces the first line of the White Army. Of his escape and capture this book. The white officer, full of doubts, full of remorse, overwhelmed by the horror and terror caused by its army, from the original name of the comic, also one of the major allegations, as in Kubrick's Paths of Glory, from due obedience . His images are powerful, the lethargy that characterized the pattern of Crepax, their faces, apparently not graceful, but full of poetry, utilization communist symbols, decanting, no doubt, by the Bolsheviks, are a masterpiece, could convulse any conscience. Awareness, it is understood, the blackout did not move at all.

img For others, Guido Crepax is only the creator of Valentina, the Italian erotic myth. This character was born in 1965, the girlfriend of a superhero who soon became someone forgot that this woman had taken his fame and prominence. This character has a strange life, the cartoonist wanted Valentina was born in 1942 and grew old over the passing of his stories and he died in 1995. Along with Emmanuelle and Story of O, Valentina forms a series of stories in which this author unleashes the world of erotica. When it began Valentina, eroticism was a rebellious way to dominant forms, a transgression of a moral capitalist and oppressive, a way of recovering lost liberty. Many of those who began this journey, followed him, still exhausted and libertarian origin. And that claim, in equal part, partly feminist, because he defended the freedom of women to decide on their sexuality, went on to explore other worlds within sexuality. Casanova, Emmanuelle and Story of O, are traversed by the world of erotica. Not reach the level pornographic manga drawings or other publications merely masturbatory dyes, but their degree sexual is very high. while in Spain, but late 70's began to distribute these works ... say licentious. The picture of the voluptuous female figure is less than that of other authors such as Milo Manara, faithful to its tradition of stylization of the figure. In a bit euphemistic terms we can speak of a loving woman's body.

guido_crepax_valentina_02 O_Crepax 2008-09-16-12-33-57-InvitoCrepax-1

Being left alone with that part of this operator is constrain a primary work of the ninth art, which makes up the entire production, prolific, long. Not only does Crepax drawing peculiar, different, great, the composition of his work, with set design and cinematography, both in the development of the work as in the layout of the page, making it a major author. Not only his own work but as an adapter of other literary works, already mentioned, and children, Story of O and Emmanuelle, and important works of gothic horror, Bram Stoker and Mary Shelley's Frankenstein, or the Marquis de Sade, Justine . Everything done well out of step, out of fads. It is good reflection of the Italian School comic book line Manara, Pratt and Battaglia, the comic is a visual art and tells a story sequentially, both the story and the drawing must be faithful to reality, although the story is fantastic to be consistent, although the characters are legendary must have body, soul, apparel, and must operate natural laws.

15_Mac_Similano-1b8de Man In Harlem (Harlem Blues) portrayed as a true lover of the jazz world, that damn legend poverty, alcohol and loss that accompanies the greats of the genre. The series ... Man created the odd story, never as a solo album as stories published in magazines. But, despite be faithful portraits of situations and areas throughout the world, never reached the heights of passion in Harlem and Pskov. These different men born in Rio de Janeiro, Africa, Asia, ... are various attempts to reflect the world who are passionate about the political struggle, the art, the marginal spaces.

crepax

Guido Crepax died in 2003. I have not known until recently, was a time when other family and work duties did not allow me to devote to this hobby. It's a shame. For me it is his Russia Aflame. Without knowing why, I saved for three or four months, two hundred and fifty pesetas was 1980 and I was nine or ten years. With that money I bought the copy that still retains. The first was the angry father, 250 pesetas in a comic! and also the drawings are not good! (Now when I see my daughter squander their savings in chrome I always remember this.) The second was that at that time I did not really know what were the left and right, and be doubted whether left or right. After reading this comic, my first graphic novel, I've always been clear.

Collecting happy endings (Farewell)

Today is a gray, cloudy and rainy at times. Of those that invite you to look at life through the windows from the warmth of home, safe from the prevailing cold and water.

Today, terminating an adventure that had me on edge since the January 22, 2004, exactly. That morning I was giving life to words that eventually became a novel. were emerging questions after that and were emerging responses across the different characters that have appeared here. Voces, as I said in the presentation. voices that emerged from the depths and were gradually taking shape. By choosing friends and situations giving rise to life. Themselves. To me was so real that all I could do about it was to discover little by little. First their thoughts, their emotions, then, their faces and finally, their lives themselves.

There was a first draft of seven chapters. A draft that is broken because I ended up liking anything and I left in a drawer for six long months. Still, the voices kept coming and that anxiety was that I was rescued from oblivion, from it and reach the final story you read. A draft that will forever remain in limbo, lost, and that only a person of many who have gone through here, has had the opportunity to read. That person will owe a lot. I owe my passion with which he defended a work in which even I have had many doubts. She to me has dissipated, and even helped me go through with this until the end. This goal which arrived today has been through it.

This book is for everyone. As I put in the letter of introduction to the various publishers who do not know if finished reading or directly thrown into the dustbin, I am an educator. I have been teaching Geography and History in four schools and has been the best thing that has happened in my life. Now I'm in charge of forty kids with whom I live every day and I have written this going for them, especialmente.Va for all students I have had and will have it. It's fucked up being a teenager and this book they can take a handle. Goes for a nephew who is now two years old.

These sheets are enclosed all the things I can not tranmit every day, the paperwork and rules will not let me out.

Everything is hidden in a hard history, without concessions to the imaginary, because life does not. Or maybe, yes? Life has been teaching me that magic may be cast in rondón in our lives. Suddenly, a gesture, a touch, a kind word or a complicit silence can give you the strength that you need on days like today, where no sun comes up. People can do magic if you want. That
Good People is part of Celtic mythology is in every one of us. This novel is also dedicated to all those people who at some point has done his magic with me. People close to me in a past and a present. Part of his personality is in the characters. Icarus is a mixture of two, a tad autobiographical, I have to admit. Daedalus, too. Ariadna and her mother are part of a woman who was instrumental in my life and helped me improve as a person. Mike was someone I met, actually, behind a bar at the rehearsal that I mention in the novel and is one hundred percent real with their thoughts and attitudes. A pity that the contact has been lost between the two.

The names of the characters, except for Mike, as I stood at attention at first, are drawn from Greek mythology. The story in his hands to lend their names to be drawn from it. To review the legend of Daedalus and Icarus, when escaped from the island of Crete flying. In the end, Icarus fell into the sea for ignoring his father and too close to the sun. The eternal conflict, parent - child, I am going to tell. Ariadna
What? The woman who helped Theseus with his ball of yarn to escape the labyrinth of the Minotaur. To all this

I tried to give a touch of reality while the magic side. I wanted to return to the phenomenon ancient fairy tales, which always has been with us throughout history and how did I spend good time reading them as a boy. " Magonia Passport is a pocket book where I found many of them.

Speaking of telling, is not it strange the novel itself? Even to me it seems. It is written well for a reason. I wanted to do something different, different. Descriptions supremely bored me. Let everyone imagine the characters and places as they see fit. In a story where fantasy and reality come together, I thought it was so convenient.

On the other hand, could not pass up the opportunity to offer history as a vehicle of knowledge and show a practical way, for different times and different peoples who have been through it teach us something. I took up the virtues of Republican Rome in the current context because I firmly believe can be done. Additionally, all the story is imbued with Celtic magic. Celtic thought, beliefs. All this comes from the mouth of the mother. That world is so in touch with our origins, nature itself, could not miss a period in our history where we have been forgetting it.

entire collection, in short, is my little tribute to fairy tales. The stories with the real and the magical part. At that we all have to continue collecting late or early happy. A taste of each.

Thanks. Heartfelt thanks to all those who have read the novel. I hope you have fun as well as in their day to my writing. There I go, with its rulings, with its imperfections, which are a few but I callus. Sincerely, yes, for you all. I leave you with a link, a special link, the beginning of January 2004 that all of this, while upstairs there is the figure of Ariadne and her mother, who whichever you prefer, watching the same sea in which plunged Icarus in search of a dream, crazy, like other literary characters before him.

Thanks again and a hug.

For the author is your favorite chapter. In it, the magic is in every corner. And indeed, if this novel had a reason, is in prayer that Icarus made before going to where your mother. That was the origin of everything. After those words the author wrote without stopping to think, after reading reflected in the paper, began to wonder if that would not merit a story about it. Why this character had got there? Why had said all that?

Well, the novel itself is the result of all this.

Despite all the bad, in spite of everything suffered so far, this novel could not end otherwise. Fairy tales are. They have a happy ending. And this, it does. More than an end, perhaps another principle. The start of something better for the characters.

Happy endings are for those who dare to believe in them, as in blue skies.

So be it.
